You are expecting your new baby to be nothing short of an angel. Therefore, you should prepare for the new arrival by decorating their room in a way that they are not too far away from the heaven they came from. The advantage of having an angel themed room is that it can last from infancy to the pre-school age of your child, passing the toddler years and on up to 6 years.
First, determine how far you intend to go with the whole angel theme. You may want to go the whole nine yards by having the theme expressed in the entire room, or you may only wish to accent the room with angel motifs and designs. You will also need to establish how permanent your angel theme will be. Do you only want it only for the period of infancy, or up to pre-school? This will help you select the right furniture and furnishings as you do not want to splurge on expensive items you will not need in two years.
For your angel themed nursery walls, you may want to go for paint. Your base color for the wall paint must support the overall angel theme. The most obvious choice for your wall paint may be pristine white. The walls will then be an ideal spot to display all your angel themed motifs. You could have a mural of angels done on one wall. Alternatively, you may want to paint a few white cloud shapes over the underlying paint of blue to give the feel of being up in the clouds. A cloud themed wallpaper border will also work well on your blue walls.
Accessorize the windows with white curtain in lace, silk or satin. No need for thick curtains. In fact, lightweight fabric is preferred. It gives the room an airy look.
Because of the nursery’s solid white color, the furnishings can be in more vivid shades, yet still maintain the light or cool colors, which are relaxing and cozy. Area rugs with an angel motif or colored in blue, white or beige will make the interior more coordinated.
Angel figurines, lamp and cabinets carved with angels, and angel artworks are ideal additions in making your baby’s room a real heaven on earth. A lamp is a necessity as you don’t really need too much lighting. The soft glow from the lamp is better as your baby will always be in dreamland.
If you have more decors to display that fit the theme, go ahead and do so. As long as the nursery doesn’t look at all crowded, it’ll be fine. Make it as comforting as possible.
Our best hint for Interior Design, is to use area rugs – and the baby rugs will suit any modern furnishings.
