If there is nowhere your child would rather be than the batter’s box then this incredibly colorful theme is just what you are looking for! Give your child a ball park that can be used any time day or night, rain or shine. A dug out that houses a bed, a mural of the outfield, and their very own home plate will amuse your child and his or her guests for hours on end. Never again say the words, “No playing ball in the house.” Once you have completed this baseball themed room your child can safely play ball anytime.
If you aren’t too handy and never used a power drill before, you may want help for making a dug out box. All you need is three pieces of plywood. Fasten these together and attach them on the wall. The colors for the room will of course be the team which your child adores. Slide the bed into the dug out so it’s the headboard to their new bed area. You child can never say again that he never slept in a dug out!
If you aren’t a great painter you may want to hire someone who is or even a friend who you know can draw. One wall of course needs to be painted as the bleacher section, one would be the scoreboard area, another is the outfield, and the last could be the dug out which the bed is located on so you can just create more bleacher areas. If you aren’t quite sure how to use the scoreboard area, try purchasing chalkboard paint. Your child can draw on this and make it seem as if he’s the coach for the team.
Now with a wonderful baseball themed room you can’t forget home plate. Instead of placing a painting on the floor try a great white area rug. This will be an awesome addition along with a great warm feeling when you enter. If you’re able to find an area rug which is actually shaped into a home run plate that is even better.
If you have a baseball room you’ll need bats, balls, and mitts! Since you know children don’t listen when you say “no ball playing in the house” invest in soft Styrofoam items so if they don’t listen it won’t damage anything in the room.
This is a great design for a baseball lover but if you aren’t too artistic in the painting department it may cost a pretty penny. You might have to hire someone to paint the walls which won’t be too cheap. So why not make this a great birthday present or even Christmas present for your little guy? He’ll always remember that holiday for the rest of his life.
